I think I cleared things up a bit. Generally, they have a really strong Economy and Military, while the rest is either average or weak. Information gathering is only slightly above average.

Re Ashera: I need how many systems you own and... you wanted a Conclave seat? Because you wouldn't be getting it with that backstory. I mean, you could try playing that, but just be aware you will have Great Houses breathing down your neck. And they consider upstart corperations like you a threat to their own manufacturing base. I mean, it works, but you'll be playing with fire. Would that be a problem? I never had any illusions about being treated as anything close to an equal by the Great Houses anyway. Besides, I usually enjoy playing the upstart interloper. If you would prefer that I come up with something that would better fit your vision for the game, that wouldn't bother me. I have another idea that might be a better fit.

Also modified some NPC's. Go meet your new neighbors.
BTW, Great Houses, I might start thinking about how you're going to handle Conclave reps. I'd recomend a dedicated NPC, smart and powerful enough to speak and vote for your House without needing to run and shoot an encrypted message off to home every few seconds.

Before this game starts, I was wondering about some of the numbers, such as...
a) What is the population in a system generally, or at least the range b) Number of ships in a fleet (like a rating of 30 gives X ships and a rating of 50 gives Y ships roughly) c) Same as b except for ground military d) Number of houses total/ number of total votes in the Conclave

Numbers doesn't matter all that much in military stats. A very well-trained and experienced, but small, army would rate the same as a large but poorly trained and equipped army. So the amount of ships/soldiers doesn't matter much.

That' fair enough, but I just wanted to check for when the game starts. That way, we don't have someone with a fleet of fifty ships, and one with 50,000.

Ah, well. Knowing how large fleets generally are might help, of course.

Ships are generally grouped into + (10) strength fleets. This normally includes a few capital ships (1 each, between 2 and 4 worth to a fleet) a cluster of heavy cruisers (about .5 each, 1 to 3 worth in a fleet) a screen of destroyers (.25 each, 2-4 in fleet) various support/specialists (shield ships, missile platforms, fighter wings, orbital bombardment specialists, whatever) make up the rest. Well built stations can be about 4 military, but they're expensive and really slow to move.
So a typical Solkani fleet would look like:
The Agra, the Sepoy, and the Thar: Rajput-class capital ships. 2 Rama class Heavy Cruisers and 3 Fallout class Light Cruisers. 12 SGA class Destroyers. 5 Missile Gunboats, 2 Shield ships, a light carrier with 2 fighter wings.
Of course, this is a general action fleet.
If they were expecting a big throw down they'd combine a few fleets, get a higher proportion of capital ships and cruisers together. Destroyers are more for patrol/picket/shoot at pirates/do some pirating stuff. They're good in their own weight class and when built as dedicated anti-fighter platforms a real killer, but they'll melt away in front of sustained mainline fire from the big guns.

Alright, the NPC's have summaries, if not actual stats.
Edit: and because I forgot... # of votes in the Conclave will I think be 75% PC and NPC Great Houses, 25% Minor Houses.
