Ferra I was thinking of more a defensive one. We'll make it optional to join in an offensive. How does that sound?

Ferra. I'll agree to that, offensive may be a bit too early in our relationship. Defensive however, will be splendid.

Imperial CityBishop Alquinas laughs. "Archbishop, you have no authority over me. I serve only those who are actually working to stem the tide of pretenders to the Pankrator. My master has admitted that his rebellion long ago against your master was foolish, and hopes to aid Marshal Umberto in the fight against the various pretenders to the Pankrator's throne. He never declared loyalty to the Counsel. And neither have I. You are like a parish monk to me, Rowe." Alquinas turns to one of the worshipful undead, and lays his hand on a rotting soldier without so much as a flinch. "Brethen in death! Why do you worship here, and whom do you call master?" Cerrak to the Children
Of course. Your resources will be suitable to trade for ours.
odin So my troops have arrived at the Shaper Lands, right? I have one turn to decimate them? Then that's what they're doing.

@sayn Destroying the gate would be a bad idea. It'd be like trying to destroy a nuclear reactor, it won't go critical, but the unhealthy dose of radiation isn't fun either. The only safe way to take out the gate would be to carefully disassemble it. Somehow, I think I had forgotten about the exploding part. That would make capturing them more difficult, but the C'tis aren't dumb. If you try the exploding wraith trick again they might have a counter. Surly 1-3 Okay. 4. A bit yes. While C'its was offering a large amount of money for slaves, slavers also had to get them through wanderer territory successfully in order collect. The less risk tolerant slavers were avoiding the C'tis market already, so while the shift will have an effect, slaves aren't going to go for a copper piece any time soon.
The Hag to Nazhedria We suppose it couldn't hurt. A trade deal is fine. Imperial CityRowe's eyes narrow as Alquinas refuses to bow to his authority, taking on a cool calculating demeanor. The dead man halts in his tracks at Alquinas' touch. His brow furrows in concentration, he stares at Alquinas with milky eyes for a few seconds before responding in slow slurred words. "Hhonnorred ffffatherrr. I haave noo master but thhe Ppppankkrattorr." Pleased with his response he smiles broadly revealing decaying teeth. Rowe motions to his guards. "Under article 23 of the pandemic prevention imperative, it is my duty, as a imperial citizen, to quarantine any individual believed to have come in contact with hazardous communicable disease. For the good of the city, Alquinas, I'm going to have to request that you submit to be quarantined." The guards step forward to grab Alquinas, it doesn't appear that Rowe's request was meant to be optional.

Yeah, I gather that they might figure out a defensive spell of some kind after this, but I wasn't really planning on using my Wraiths like this again anyway. Blowing my agents up was only a fun idea this one time. So, yeah. Bombs away. @the Gate: Can I perhaps take control over it? Is it in the Material or only in the Veil (like the gate I want to build)?

Imperial CityAlquinas grins. "So, you know your laws, Archbishop. That is good. But did you not hear what the creature said? He called me 'honored father' and claimed to serve only the Pankrator. If he did not recognize myself and Cerrak as true servants of the Pankrator, then this pious undead would not have claimed so. The undead have ignored you, for you serve only yourself, Rowe. As such, you have no authority over me. I therefore reject your imperative. You are not the caretaker of the Pankrator's throne. Cerrak and Umberto are." Immediately after Alquinas states his refusal to bend to Rowe, he chants arcane syllables, and sweeps his outstretched hand in a slashing motion. As he does so, the earth itself responds to his will, erupting in large spikes upon Archbishop Rowe and his retinue. "I am the greatest sorcerer of Cerrak, and I will not allow you to stop Cerrak's restoration of the Pankrator's power!" Even if that Pankrator is Cerrak himself...Alquinas calls to the undead worshiping at the shrine. "Dead brethen, this callow fool seeks to stop you from venerating the Pankrator! Rise with your brothers to strike him down!" Cerrak to Umberto I have a temporary truce with the Shapers, good Umberto. Their leader, Urt, has returned, and I have decided that it would not be worth the trouble to attack them at this point. Instead, I'll march on that glorified statue in Hoburg, and wipe out any independent fortresses on the way.
After that, I respectfully ask for any aid, troops or weaponry, you can provide for a campaign in the west.
I have a complex web of alliances, and I'm loathe to break any of them. The Shapers are not my allies, but if I can wrestle enough resources out of any Pretender I encounter, those same Pretenders will be easier to crush later on.
odin
I'm moving my troops back to Cerra, instead of attacking the Shapers. Envelop any independent holdouts on the way, in the same tactics I recommended for fighting Urt and the Shapers. Remember, I have ++++ of military marching.

ShapersOur offer still stands if you would like aid against Cerrak. OOC: Check your PM's. Children of NoveniaNone of these short lived races have the capacity to remember you, but our lord's memories run deep. He wishes to speak to Novenia, directly. If you accept, we will send an Emissary to your forest.

In Nazhedria's realm a small act of vandalism has occured. Some of the 'examples' have had the message on their bodies rewritten to say "This is what I think of you." Kristialin To Hoburg A warning from one peaceful community to another. Cerrak has announced plans to attack your guardian to Umberto. Be careful for Cerrak has powerful armies and magiks at his disposal.
Kristialin to C'tis I have heard about the interruptions to the ritual and I apologise for not being there in person to aid you. I hope that you punished those who dared interfere suitably. On other matters I belive that Nazhedria is intending to attack you soon. Kristialin to the Children of Novena The new born town of Martivir will need trade to survive. I hope you are open to the idea of a trade agreement, and I invite your people to come and see the town for themselves. Kristialin to the Great Hag If you don't mind me asking what do you know of these events in the Imperial City? Kristialin to the Hood Its been nice working alongside you in Martivir. Please always feel welcome in the city you helped construct. In other news do you have any knowladge of whats happening in the Imperial City?

Just a word of caution: Kristalin knows that you are about to attack the "statue" of Hoburg, and has seen fit to warn it about your approach. Thank you. That city is a step in the right direction for this world. I just hope others won't see fit to ruin it.
And yes, I do have that knowledge. Not a whole lot escapes my eyes and ears. Of course, I am loathe to give anything away for free. Information, just like any other commodity, has its price.

@sayn It's primarily in the material. It looks kind of like a stone version of the StarGate (tm). To use or control it you need to have a physical presence near the gate.
Imperial CityThe earthen spikes shoot through the cobblestone street and impale Rowe's guards. Rowe however manages to get off a counter spell before the spikes aimed at him hit their mark. The gathered crowd quickly disperses, with screams of alarm. Even the brave souls who were curious enough about he undead to stay, have no desire to get in the way of two battling wizards. The a few of the undead lurch forward, intent on killing Rowe. They get closer and seem to realize that Rowe is also dressed in the garb of a priest. They slow their pace, confused looks on their faces. Rowe hurls his own anathema at Alquinas, making passes with his hands while talking. "Finally you show your true colors. Slaying imperial citizens in the name of your false god." A light builds in his hands as he continues to talk. "Your god is nothing before the light of the Pankrator. You might be the mightiest mage in Cerra, but your not in Cerrak's domain any more. Here in the capital, you are little more then a hedge mage." The light in his hands glows brighter, and begins to crackle with menace. "For your crimes against the Pankrator and humanity, I curse you!" To emphasize his words he throws a crackling bolt of lightning from his hands, "I curse you! A thousands times curse you!" Punctuating his words with two more bolts. In the distance the hobnailed feet of the city guards can be head echoing on the paving stones of the cities streets. Umberto to Cerrak ((Assume the letter is sent before Umberto hears news of Alquinas and Rowe's 'debate'.))
Do whatever you think is best. But be warned, if I don't begin to see results I may have to re-think our relationship.
Not to besmirch your record, but you marched on the Pits, but arrived to late to do any good. Now after a march on The Shapers you turn back before retaking as much a as a single city. I'd appreciate it very much if your armies applied themselves to battle as much as they do to marching. @rational Okay
Hoburg to Kristialin We appreciate the warning. We will do our best with what we have.
C'tis to Kristialin Don't worry yourself overly much. Your business demanded your presence elsewhere.
We've taken measures to ensure it doesn't happen again.

Hm. I have the power to teleport now. If Hood teleports in there, could he potentially teleport out of there with the gate? Kristalin seems to be able to teleport vast amounts of people, in any case, and Hood is a really strong mage.

The Hood could, but it would cease to be a functioning gate. It would be like destroying the gate. Kind of like teleporting up to a flood gate in a dam and teleporting away with it.
When you get back you have this nice stone circle, but there's a gaping hole in the dam.
It's kind of like an OoTS gate, the gate kind of keeps the rift open, but it also stops it from expanding.

Ah well. It was only a thought. I guess I'll have to think up another way then.
Hood and my mages keep working on the theory behind my Gate. I want to be able to construct it quickly if the need presents itself. Will constructing the gate be "prohibited" by the one under Nazhedria?

I cannot say, since I do not know what you consider "interesting". However, I would say that it might be used as political ammunition in more than one way, if you are clever.
