Kingdom of SwedenTo Iceland: All right. We'll be relaying all intelligence we have on the situation to you for now, the reinforcements will be ready to go in a while. To Brass Barony: Sounds good. We'll be doing so. Any chance of getting hands on some of those repeating rifles? We've created a design of Brassman weapon suited against fortifications, if you'd like something in return. To Japan: The repeating rifles are something we've been having progress on ourselves through our ally the Brass Barony. However, we would be interested in your advancements aswell. Seeing as we are allies anyway, a strict one-for-one policy seems somewhat uninspired. What about the following: The engineers on their way to you will teach you the process of making dynamite in exchange for mutual cooperation in tech projects and similar good will later on in regards to some project of yours or other? To GM: The intel we have on BEIC and English forces, gathered from both our agents in the forces of both and the fact that we're cooperating with them via our military advisors, is still being leaked to Iceland and the alliance fighting against Britain.(Note: I would also like to know this intel. Or, at least, how much did BEIC send here. Spotter balloons should be able to tell that much however much they shrouded their actions in secrecy with their tiny espionage.)
Oh, and we're helping the Brass Barony 'investigators' in Prussia with some of our own.

To Sweden They have two groups coming, from the BEIC, one that you know about will; be here soon, the other, armed with new rifles, will be here next turn. From what I can tell they are only sending +'s into it. The british are fortifying York, a group got cut off at Lanark. London is fortified, and they are preparing for a break out, should the city become surrounded, to get the king and queen to safety.

To Krennel: Hey, France's response would be important aswell. To Iceland: (OOC: This is what Krennel says: "They have two groups coming, from the BEIC, one that you know about will; be here soon, the other, armed with new rifles, will be here next turn. Empire of JapanThat is very generous of you, and we gracefully accept. Indeed, one could say that our current cooperation toward flying machines was the first step in what should be a very prosperous technological exchange.
We are also cooperating with the Brass Barony on certain things. Perhaps we should turn this into a three-way partnership in technological advancement? If anything we should at least be able to vastly out-research the other larger powers of the world.

To Japan: Indeed, I see no reason why if we all are working with each other anyway we shouldn't work all together. And since we're also allies in military matters, it seems like a match made in heaven.

Singapore Japan The Lady arrives within a few weeks. The vessel she came upon was new, one that was smalle,r built for speed. It was one that was flexible in its use, but one ill-suited for siege or standard warfare.
Living up ot her name, the Lady was a beatuy, though one that would never have the look of a proper woman. Her dark red hair and green eyes marked her Russian heritage, and he facial features and speech suggested her other side to be from southern China, most likely Shangahi or one of the nearby cities inland.
With her was a few small token gifts, as well as a few bodyguards, though none to match the skill or guise of Japanese soldiers. Singapore's military was still very much mercenaries turned regulars.
All this seemed to be a part of the bigger picture of what the Lady was trying to convey.
At first, in the couple of brief meetings, she was soft spoken, and tried ot mostly listen. She described the actions in Borneo as one of trying to strengthen the region for the betterment of the whole. Already one of the coastal cities had come to support Singapore, and Singapore was sending its resources to turne into into a thriving seaport.
To respond to questions on soveriegnty, the Lady replied that sharing the same military, and having the same currency did not necessarily remove soveriegnty. Singapore ahd no intention on anyone ruling within Borneo that was not born from the island. She also mused that no, King Wagba Dan was not born in Borneo.
However, on her third night, she pressed forward a question to the leaders of Japan. "As you well know, there have been two wars recently. One was fought within Europe between European powers, and the other in the Ottoman Empire, fought between European powers. What troubles us in Singapore is the latter conflict, coutnries fighting out their wars through others. King Wagba Dan believes such a war ingenious, and proof that our Western cousins may be generations more wise. However, what this kind of war gains in brilliance, it lacks in any definition of honor, and more importantly, of humanity."
She almost laughed as she continued. "With such a war, one could lose, yet their populations would hardly feel a scratch. It lowers the stakes of war, it reduces the cosnequences.
"Should the Ottoman Empire fail, we worry on where Europe will move this new kind of warfare. It is possible they could move to Africa, they could even move west to the Americas, though their white brothers may deter that. Then, there is the possibility of Asia." She paused, making sure the next words were held of great importance. "Singapore is the gateway to this realm. With the British East India Company already breaking Chinese laws, and testing its resolbe, we feel it may be a precurssor to aa much heavier involvement of the West in our lands. Amongst their nationalism, their way of waging wars, and the technology to back their pride, we feel threatened.
"Is there anything you know that would put our fears at ease, or perhaps confirm them?"

Empire of JapanDue to us having research deals with each other, we proposed to Sweden that we three enter a kind of technology alliance.
Japan would gladly allocate one or more of the thousands of small islands under our rule to hold the joint-research facility.
Perhaps we should decide what to research now? The perfection of repeating guns seems like a good place to start, as well as flying machines. Although Lady got to meet the Emperor, he was behind a screen and the meeting was more of a polite gesture than a real political meeting. Instead she was shown to Abe Masahiro, Chief Advisor to the Emperor. He nodded gravely to her words but then only shrugged.
"Did you think we were not aware of the situation? Hah. The Europeans fight their proxy wars and think that this prevents any real losses to their own might. We think differently. The only thing keeping the delicate power balance in Europe going is the division of military might. Even wars such as the Ottoman war means losses and casualties. Sure, their lands and peoples usually take little damage, but if their military might is lessened then their neighbors will look at them with hungry eyes."
A small, secretive smile.
"And the situation in India is not so solid as it might seem." He would not say anything more than that.
"We do not care for your expansionist politics, nor do we think that you could stand an organized attack. Which is precisely why we wish for you to keep your forces intact, rather than throw them away in a small attempt at expanding your territory. While the Europeans might soon have thrown away much of their power in their proxy wars, they are still mighty enough to shift focus to, say, an upstart nation in Asia and crush them. We must sever the European hold on Asia before attempting anything else. Do we make ourselves clear?"

To Japan and Estor: I'm afraid that any technological institute needs a lot of supporting infrastructure among other things, such as personnel. I'm sure you could handle these, but distance would still prove a problem; sending our greatest minds all the way around the world along with their families and closest assistants to work on extremely volatile and valuable national secrets is a tough condition to swallow.
However, a method that would take into account this yet still allow us to share our strengths would be focusing each of our nation's resources into separate parts of the same projects, as we have already done a few times, and cooperate with each other in the integration. Something such as, say, a meeting of the research personnel responsible for the projects every year or another time period, whatever sounds fine, to be held at each of our fine nations in turn. We might even attract other great minds into this grand show of international friendship and technological advancement. And behind closed doors, we could share what we have and work on the problems, that I am sure to be rather few if we work all along with them in mind, that arise from combining our knowledge.
Meanwhile, the public part might also be very useful indeed, allowing us to recruit fresh talent and see the achievements of others all around the world.

Yes, that is a good plan. It would also be a way of keeping the other powers of the world guessing how advanced we really are. Being able to tell the world "We have this weapon and we are comfortable in showing it to you. What do you think we still feel like hiding?" would make them think twice before doing anything to provoke us.
Once again, we should detail which technologies we are to work on, and how to split up the work load. Perhaps we could do something like this with the repeating weapons: Sweden takes care of the ammunition, trying to get it as effective as possible (perhaps by adding explosives to them), Estor works on the mechanical parts since they are the most well-versed in things like that and Japan takes care of the steam and hydraulics used to power the guns.
Any comments or perhaps other technologies we should work on?

Estor and Japan: We are fine with that. Which nation hosts the first conference and when?
I would say that since Estor and ourselves will be rather more busy with the upcoming war than Japan if our assessment on Russian troop positions is correct, the first one should be on the Japanese, if they agree.

That is perfectly acceptable. Perhaps the time between the meetings should be extended to at least 2 years? It does take quite some time to travel between our nations, after all.

To Sweden the French are living with the first small fleet, but subsequent fleets will be tolerated increasingly less.

To Krennel: I meant the french response to the message I sent to them on the last page: "I think it'd be about time to finalize our plans for mutual cooperation. I'm leaning towards keeping our mutual protection pact an agreement behind the scenes, although we will of course abide if you wish to make it public like the pact made with the Brass Barony.
However, you should gather your forces and we would be very grateful if you participated in helping the Barony with cutting Prussian trade on the mainland. We're doing it ourself on the seas, and they will be forced to make their move soon or starve."
Since we had already agreed on previous turns that France joins us in the war against Prussia if we don't bother the French-held areas of Germany and let them take the Danish colonial holdings, which they did, as long as we have a casus belli, which we will, since we're forcing Prussia to declare war on us.

To Sweden Theyll help you. The EIC ships have finally arrived at the British isle. They drop off reenforcement before advancing up the coast. After a lengthy fight with the Icelandic and Irish ships off the western coast of Scotland. They are defeated after a very bloody battle. In other news, the Brown Bellies attempted to assassinate the Icelandic Leaders, by forcing an entrance. Fortunately they failed, and two men were caught.

To Krennel: What is the war situation in general in Britain? Could our intel and influence in the troops of each be utilized to create a major breakthrough against the Brits without it taking too long? Using a trap by leading a British counterattack, for instance?
Also, we offer the British Royal Family sanctuary in Sweden in case things get too bad, and draw up plans to facilitate their escape. Should be easy, what with knowing their enemies' troop positions.
