In case the countries keep being centers of high learning, arts and culture on the edges of the Empire, I think we need the 'Original' Empire state with the basic efficient and organized military, central location, houses the capital etc. possibly as an NPC.

Yeah, I was actually expecting a couple of people to go for high military, if only because it will be a pretty hostile world and military will play a big role in keeping the Empire safe. Both through actual fighting and merely discouraging the other nations to try anything.

So am I the only contributor to the empires armies? Why do I get the feeling our army would fit well in a Nazi propoganda film? Lol

Fun fact, The alliance soldier uniforms from firefly were leftover starship trooper costumes.

Hah, didn't know that. Now I'm tempted to go and compare the two to see if they are the same...

See, the Black Dragons feel that there is little need for an offensive army when any general that tries to attack you winds up being sacrificed to dark and unspeakable gods dying under mysterious circumstances.

Name: Kudei Emblem: a diagonal line from top right to bottom left, with two shorter lines striking it through. History: Kudei used to be an independant nation adjacent to the Empire. The Kudei race are the height of an average human, but with distinct lizardlike features, ie tail and scales, differnet facial; structure. The territory consisted of green rolling hills, and small forests. Over time, the smaller Kudei blended into the Empire, though stil retains its own government and flag. Before joining the Empire, Kudei was constantly at war with its other neighbour, the cat-people of Alazyrr. The Alazyrrians decided it would be in their best interests not to provoke the wrath of the Empire, and backed off once Kudei joined. Strengths: Large, strong military from war with Alazyrr. The Kudei race are fairly tight knit, and trust eachother. Weaknesses: Fairly weak spy network. Mild distrust of non-humans in the Empire can lead to trouble.

An offensive army attacking through the deserts will face much trouble from even a small defensive army which knows the terrain and how to fight in it. And once they get through and then get routed by the power of awesome, they'll have a hell of a trek back through the desert to get away.

My men hold their swords high above their heads, leaving a nce big trap opening for the enemy. Considering they can bench press a freakin elphant on average. It's based on the Germanic style of swor fighting I like to call "lucky me" they miss your head as you go in, hit your shoulder instead, "lucky me" is your last thought as your arm falls off.

And meanwhile your men have a spear in their gut since the soldier got in before your strike hit.

Considering they have minimum five foot reach, the spear would be cut in half. Anyways that is tactics for one on one, groups, which spears would usualy be found in, so my man is fine.

One on one I'd guess I'd have to resort to the traditional poisoned javelin.

I changed a couple things for my state just to make it a little bigger. I also added a couple characters for when this thing gets underway.

Alright, here's the deal... I came back from Spain and found that not only had I lost some of my enthusiasm for running another game, but I also found that I had some unexpected work to take care of. Sadly this means I won't be able to run this game right now. I will make another attempt at this in a few weeks time, though, and I'll also try to expand the general lore of the world and its magic to make it easier for you to hammer out any details in your states. Really sorry about this, but I won't try to GM when there's a big chance that I won't be able to fully commit. Too many games die that way, and that's no fun for anyone. Once again, really sorry.
