First I would like for you to pay the agreed upon price for their deaths; enchanted weapons for my assassins.
Other than that, we are always open for business. If said business involves killing certain key-people in X'Yogg'Thoth's organization, then all I ask is suitable payment. I will even give you a fair discount, because I do not like that... "thing".

Cerrak to Hood Certainly. I'll be passing through on my way to conquer Azog. I intend to give you the enchanted weapons as I go to fight that... thing.
odin Oh, and before I forget, I will quickly forge or buy a large number of enchanted weapons before I set out to fight X'Yogg'Thoth.
These weapons will mostly be given to Hood's assassins, but any that are leftover will be in the hands of Cerrak's captains, including Centurion Legius.

((I edited the EoT post if you want to take another look.)) The Hag to The Hood Sufe's face pales noticeably. The Hag speaks. "The veil?" she pauses before continuing. "I had hoped we had more time."
@sayn Yes, you got Tetra's along with four others. Hoburg to Kristialin The behemoth speaks. "What good would it do me to say yes? If I am then you can believe me, but if I've lied then you couldn't." After saying his peace the titanic statue returns to staring. Umberto to Cerrak By my silence, I meant to imply that discussing the assassination of allies is beneath both of our dignity.
By all that's holy Cerrak, if I find out you were behind Tetra's death, I'll boil you alive.

Nazhderia I see you have chosen your side then. We could have great together, but you have forced our hand. Your destruction will be swift, @cerrak So, you’re finally getting your hands dirty. No more words. We will see who is the strongest. Umberto While their is no love lost between us, I feel like you should something about your close ally Cerrak. Your suspicions of him are true, he did indeed have Tetra killed. Here is the message he sent to the assassins of Hood:
@joppun Are your Oni warriors growing bored of complacency? If so, I have an opportunity for your nation to show its true power. Cerrak is leading the bulk of his soldiers against us, leaving his homeland vulnerable to an attack. I’m sure the Titan of Creation has many valuable artifacts hidden in his domain, just ripe for the taking.

The Hood"So, it seems you know more than you are letting on. The walls of the Shade Lands are crumbling, and that can only spell disaster in the future."
He leans ever so slightly forward.
"Tell me what is happening. If anything, I should be able to help you stabilize the Shade Lands. But information is key here." Ohoho. Excellent. Incoming PM-conversation.

Cerrak to Umberto Good Umberto, I can promise you, my agents were not behind the killing of Tetra and the rest. However, as you'll recall, the cursed dragon Kristialin took advantage of the entire Council Theologica' appearing to reveal himself and harass them. Who's to say he didn't kill Tetra and the others? Or, those "Fallen" that failed to kill him could have took the opportunity to make themselves look like heroes, "defending" the Council from the dragon. Or both could be in cahoots. I would ask your leave to deal with the dragon once I am finished fighting in Azog.
Besides, look on the bright side; now you can take full control of the Imperial Capital, and extract much more manpower and fighting power then ever before, and none of the priests dare to suggest that you are doing anything else then simply keeping the Pankrator's empire intact, as am I.
Even now I march to aide you against the madness of the Howling Pits. How could you doubt my loyalty? Besides, I'd be a bit hard to boil, being transformed into stone by the Pankrator.
Cerrak to Ferra Fellow being of earth; I would ask you to kindly send a force of your followers to defend my capital, Cerra, from any sneak attacks that my enemies may unleash upon me.
Know that you will be rewarded for doing so, and that we earth-shapers need to unite in the face of aggression from the blasphemous powers.

Umberto to X'yogg'thoth I have my suspicions but as a there is no love between us, I can't see a reason why you'd like our alliance to stay intact.
I need more proof then the word of an ancient Horror. That being said I wouldn't object to some more substantial evidence.
Anyone can fake a letter. If you could prove that Cerrak gave The Hood weapons as payment then your words would have some validity. Jouppon to X'yogg'thoth It's not complacency that keeps us. You have noticed that we lay on opposite sides of the world.
How exactly do you plan on us reaching Cerrak? Few of us have the wings of the Fallen, and our shaman cannot simply conjure boats from nothingness.
We're working a fleet but these things take time. If you want more aid then the reinforcements that we are sending, it'll take time. Assuming everything goes as planned a landing is still at least a year off, and we can't sail through the winter storms.
Umberto to Cerrak Maybe I was a bit hasty to throw blame. But our previous words on the matter left me ill at ease.
Tetra did not lack for enemies.
Leave salvaging the situation to me.
If you have any information, other then conjecture, clearing your name or implicating another, I'd be more then happy to hear it. The Hag and The Hood The Hag waves Sufe's arm and a glowing representation of the universe is displayed. The celestial sphere above and the infernal below. The shade lands stand in between them and the Material.
"Every time something steps through the borders between worlds the veil is punctured." She gestures again, and the image zooms in showing the border between the shade lands and the Material. The image shows tiny representations of The Fallen piercing the veil to appear in the Imperial City.
"Normally the holes quickly close. Now that the Pankrator is gone more beings are piercing the veil." She pauses to look pointedly at the Hood. "Normally the Pankrator restored any major rents in the veil, but he's no longer here."
The wave a hand once more, the image zooms out. The image changes the shade lands shrinking and disappearing. After a few seconds the shade lands are gone and the Celestial, Infernal and Material realms begin to over lap. She waves once more and the image is gone.
"With enough power the degradation of the Shade lands could be slowed, maybe even halted. But such a fix is temporary. If a new Pankrator doesn't take power by the time the spheres overlap..." The Hag trails off leaving the rest of her thought unspoken.

Hood sighs deeply, and shakes his head.
"Which means I must strive to acquire more power than I already have..."
He sits back slightly and thinks for a few moments.
"If I begin to mend the smaller holes in the veil, and thus buying us more time, will you help me gain more knowledge about it and the nature of the realms? I have a plan of how to fix our problems. Maybe permanently. But it will require far more direct knowledge of how the realms and the veil works. Interested?"

To Hoburg "I wish to know how ou became what you are now and what your plans are." Kristialin replied TJ and the C'tiss C'tiss arrives at the Swamp and bows before the Pretender. "My apologies on my late arrival, I was delayed by the Imperial Cult." To Nazhedria Is there any way we can help your campain against that vile horror.

@kristalin Your espionage network is at least as good as ours, so I assume you are aware that Cerrak had Primate Tetra killed, using Hood's assassins. Umberto suspects this, but he blinds himself to the truth to avoid losing Cerrak as an ally. Someone must take the blame, however. That someone is you. Your appearance over the capital happened at almost the same moment Hood's forces struck, making you the perfect scapegoat. You may find us distasteful, but the fact remains that Cerrak and Umberto and whatever other cronies he has serving him will not stop with our destruction. With you very publicly flouting the 'Pankrator's' will, you have already established yourself in opposition to them. You may have power, dragon, but can you resist the combined armies of Umberto and Cerrak? Like it or not, it's in your best interest if we survive, because if we fall, you’re next. @wanderer A young girl rides through the desert on a blind horse, flanked by men in plate armor and heavy robes. They walk, and seem to not notice the intense heat. At some unspoken signal, the party stops. The girl dismounts, and walks to the top of a sand dune. She scoops some sand in her hands, and lets the wind blow it away. She speaks, and though her voice is barely above a whisper, it seems to reverberate across the entire desert.
"Wanderer of the Desert, I, Nameless Emissary of the Harbinger, X’yogg’thoth, request an audience with you."

To X'yogg'thoth There is some truth to what you say but the Shapers will be able to keep Umberto busy enough for me to prove my innocence. Besides the high priests were the only ones killed in that mess, no one was killed by me or by TJ.
As for you, I admit I have your very existance distasteful but I have no desire to confront you. So what exactly are you proposing? To Umberto Would you care to meet and discuss the future?

Skulls against StarsBlack mist rolls across the wastes. Far off, Lord Anaxias watches the cultists and their creatures stand on their parapets at the far side of the field, awaiting his army. As night begins to fall, the servants of X'Yogg'Thoth seem restless. The mist had drifted closer, but none of the soldiers watching them had advanced. Scouts sally forth from the X'ian fortifications, sneaking through gates hidden in the unnatural geometries, to check for infiltrators on the flanks. A few send back panicked messages through the Mind as vampires fall upon them, but most report nothing at all - and certainly not an army. An hour after the sun sinks below the horizon, the mist begins lapping against the walls of the fort. Creature with eyes unlike any earthly being see the mist move despite the darkness - and notice as it begins to climb. By the time they realize that this phenomenon may not be a normal part of terrestrial warfare and warn their comrades, the black mist has begun to pour over the top of the battlements - and to coalesce into solid forms. Black swords held by shadows slash out from the darkness, felling the first rows of sentries. Grappling hooks fly out from the remaining mist and latch on to the walls, thrown by living warriors hidden under the gaseous bodies of their ghostly comrades. As the priests hurry forward and summon more friends to reinforce the walls, sudden attacks on the flanks of the fortress slow them down. No one pays much attention as the army that they'd been watching and waiting for all day springs into action on the horizon, skeletal cavalry sprinting towards the fort and siege weapons launching their payloads across the starry sky. The call to assault is made not with horns or drums, but with whistles. Some of the saner among the X'ian forces shiver; but even those long inured to such sounds begin to remember fear. The walls shake as the black army flows over them, barely slowed by the weapons of the defenders. Some cry out for the Champion, for otherworldly angels with unspeakable names, for X'Yogg'Thoth himself. They receive no answer but the cold laughter of dead things. By dawn the battle is long over. The walls have been pulled down, their ruins tramped over by marching zombies, and the defenders re-animated to join the horde. Lord Anaxias passes over the rubble, leaving the cooling ashes of the enemy defenses behind as his first scouts begin to descend into the depths of the Howling Pits. Nazhedria to CerrakThe situation is under control. If you do not send your own troops to aid we will demand substantially more payment, but frankly I do not think they will be necessary. Nazhedria to KristialinThank you for the offer, but we have things well in hand. Still, if you wish to help, espionage - reports on the locations of his cultists in my lands and of his forces in the Howling Pits - would be greatly appreciated. Nazhedria to UmbertoThis region is secure. If you must worry, worry about the West. odinSo, what exactly did I learn from experimentation on the creatures I got from X'Yogg'Thoth?
Also, we won't try to advance into the pits themselves, just get a sense of their defenses and how many enemies we can expect. We'll focus on securing bottlenecks and potential ambush locations to keep an X'ian army from coming out from below us unexpectedly.

Wanderer to X'yogg'thoth: The Wanderer is suddenly behind the Emissary, and slaps his hand downward dismissively, neatly slicing through the coiled magic on the Wind. "I do not need that taint here and neither do you. If you search, I will be there." The Wanderer folds his arms. "And now that I am here, what do you want?"

The Hag and the Hood "If it will help slow the degeneration of the universe how could I say know? Sufe will stay here and I'll tell you everything I know that might be able to help. For now though my attention is needed elsewhere.
Was there anything else?" Sufe's eyebrow arches questioningly. The Behemoth and Kristialin "There isn't much to tell. The Pankrator grew ever more powerful, until one day the Material Universe failed to keep his interest he's moved on to higher things. Not all of him wanted to go, pieces of him still loved the world and it's people. I'm such a piece, there might be others but I don't know.
As for plans, I plan to stay here. There are bad things coming and all I can't stop them. If I stay here I might be able to protect these people. For a while anyhow." He pauses. "There, are you satisfied?"
The Great White one and TJ TJ is escorted to the section of the C'tiss capital that holds Sithiuss' personal swamp.
The great white crocodile heaves itself out of the water and begins basking in the sun. It talks without moving his great saurian jaw. A huge carraracted eye stares at TJ.
"I'm glad you could come, we don't have many outside visitors here in the C'tiss. So you are one of the dragon born I heard so much about! If you wouldn't mind stepping closer, my eyes aren't what they once were." Umberto to Kristialin What is there to discuss? You appeared in The Imperial City, and attacked citizens of the empire. And Tetra died under mysterious circumstances. The people in the streets bay for your blood.
What would you have me do? Umberto to Nazhedria I'm glad to hear it. If and when Cerrak's forces arrive keep a close eye on them.
With the assassination of Tertra, I'm even less sure of his loyalties then I once was. I may be worrying over nothing, but I'd rather be too cautious then not cautious enough.
SurlyI'm waiting for a response back. I'll send you a PM when I narrow the details down.
