Okay, here's some NPC's The Great Powers: Prussia Great supporter of the German Confederation, enlightened absolute monarchy, mildly anti Estor, hate the Swedes with the fury of a thousand suns France Under a regency for Napoleon II headed by Josephine Bonaparte and Murat, strongly nationalistic, anti-German unification. Free player in the diplomatic scene, wants to extend its colonies on their Magreb and keep Brittan from getting back on its feet Brittan a cripple with its crutches in the fire. Lost Ireland, lost North America, lost the Royal Navy (to North America) only has India because of its real owners goodwill. The French Invasion did an excellent job exaggerating class differences, and the new absolutist government has spent the last decade crushing any liberal sentiment and fighting to reintegrate Wales (successfully) and Scotland (not so much) from the new rulers the French gave them. Obviously extremely anti-French, doesn't like Avalonia all that much either, seeing as they took the Royal Navy when they left.
Russia ..Pretty much the exact same as in Real Life, the Swedish presence in Finland leaves St. Petersberg vunreable, which they don't like, and Japan makes them nervous due to their extremely tenuous hold on the Far east. Austria Metternich is the chancellor, and the secret police are the envy of Europe. Owns a bit more of southern Germany then it did in real life, and is good friends with Russia. Its land-locked status is hurting its economy quite a bit, and it wants to rectify this, meaning Venice is not exactly its BFF. As I said, Metternich is the Chancellor, so it dislikes the Shadows of Samuel even more thne every other state on the continent. Ottomans A variety of factors have led to its continued possession of all of mainland Greece. If it wasn't Obvious, They really hate the Hospitalliers, aren't big fans of the Venetians, and don't particularly like the French either (for supporting Egypt and taking Algeria). The Important powers: China: Pretty much the same as real life, with the important difference being the lack of unequal treaties and massive amounts of opium on the black market, leading to powerful organized crime syndicates. Really hates the BEIC, distrusts Japan Egypt: Under Muhammad Ali Pasha, is currently a major player in Middle East and Africa, controlling most of Sudan, Palestine and with its armies conducting a mostly successful war against the Ottomans in Syria. Mexico: Texans killed Santa Anna, leading to some slightly more competent leadership, and the Texan revolt being crushed (although the population thier is hardly patriotic). Ruled by a thinly disguised military dictatorship, it extremely nervous about Avalonia, and has ambitions regarding Central America Brazil: Owns Uruguay, is a mildly dysfunctional constitutional monarchy, with the Emperor retaining an absolute veto and command of the military. Dislikes Argentina for geo-political reasons

The Hospitaller Protectorate Form of Government: The Hospitaller Grandmaster is elected by the Knights, and is given control over the military and navy of the protected nations during periods of war. The other nations of the Protectorate are allowed to choose their own government which governs them locally. Most of the states use some form of a Parliamentary system, with the notable exception of the Barbary Coast holdings, which are governed by a thinly veiled military dictatorship. Ideally, the Hospitallers don’t interfere in state matters and the states don’t try to control the Knights, but in practice everything is much messier. Territory: Sicily, Malta, Southern Italy*, Some North African Coastal Regions(Libya**, Tunisia***), Crete, Rhodes, and some smaller Mediterranean Islands.
*Everything south of Foggia and Napoli **Everything north of Ajdabyia and Tubruq ***Everything NW of Bizerte and Sfax I <3 Google Maps
History: The Knights Hospitaller were a religious order of knights that has it’s origins caring for sick and injured pilgrims in the Holy Land. After the first Crusade captured Jerusalem, they were given a military charter and were charged with the defense of the Holy Land. After the Muslim forces retook Jerusalem, the Knights of Saint John moved their headquarters to Rhodes. Their they were forced to become more militarized, and found a new purpose, policing the seas against Barbary pirates. The Ottoman Empire and the Sultan of Egypt both attempted to lay siege to Rhodes, but they were beaten back. They were finally defeated in a sixth month siege by Suleiman the Magnificent. The surviving Hospitallers retreated to Sicily, where they then moved to Malta. Their they built a magnificent fortress, and continued their bid to protect the sea from pirates. The fortress remained untaken, until Napoleon himself used trickery and deceit to gain access to the Valetta, the mighty fortress that was the Knight’s base of power. The knights put up no effective defense, their Grandmaster claiming that their charter prevented them from harming Christians. The knights were forced to disperse, though a limited number tried to negotiate their return to power. After Napoleon was defeated, Malta was supposed to be given back to the Knights Hospitaller according to the Treaty of Aimens, but the English didn’t seem to be in any hurry to return the island to it’s rightful owners. They thought that the Hospitallers were nothing more then a relic of a lost age, with little modern relevance. They were wrong.
In 1807, the whole of the knights Hospitaller landed on the shores of Malta, demanding their island back. A charismatic new Grandmaster had gathered the Order, and bolstered their ranks by a considerable amount. They carried no weapons, but they demanded the return of their fortress. The English governor in charge opened the gates and let them in, whether he was a pious man or whether he had his pockets lined with gold is unknown. The occupying English were allowed to leave, and the Knights began to rebuild. They launched several offensives against the Barbary Pirates, managing to capture parts of Libya and Tunisia. They were slowly retaking what they had lost.
In 1820 Sicily rebelled against it’s Bourbon overlords. The rebels fought valiantly, but defeat seemed almost certain. In an act of desperation, they petitioned the nearby Hospitaller’s for aid. After much debate, it was agreed that the Hospitallers would aid the revolutionaries, and the Knights of the White Cross sailed to Sicily. With the Knight’s military expertise helping the fervent revolutionaries, the Bourbons were driven from Sicily. With the Bourbon’s defeated, the Sicilians wasted no time in drawing up their own constitution and parliamentary government system, but they were at a loss to figure out how to defend their new found freedom. The Knights Hospitaller offered a solution, and the free state of Sicily became the first nation to join The Hospitaller Protectorate.
With the Sicilians military and economic support, the Knights Hospitaller easily dominated the southern Mediterranean seas, taking the island of Crete, as well as the Knight’s ancestral stronghold of Rhodes from the Ottoman empire. When southern Italy refused to join the Union di Italia Ovest, emulating their Sicilian neighbors by forming a parliamentarian government of their own, the Knights invited the fledgling nation to join their Protectorate. The southern Italians accepted, joining the Hospitallers. With the resources and tactical advantages of southern Italy, the Hospitaller Protectorate have become a formidable power in the Mediterranean. Advantages: The Knights command a very strong navy, with both military and trading fleets sailing the waters. The Knights themselves are elite soldiers of the highest order, trained in the best modern warfare techniques and equipped with the best weaponry.
The Hospitallers have a strong economy, with the control of most of the trade routes in the southern Mediterranean.
The Protectorate have a strong technology base that is growing. Many great minds find the freedom offered in the liberal states of Sicily and southern Italy to be very tempting. True to their name, the Hospitallers also have very advanced medicine. Disadvantages: While the Knights are well trained and well equipped, the common soldiers of the Protectorate are neither of these things. The ground forces of the Protectorate are also heavily militia based, and are unlikely to be useful in an offensive campaign.
While the people of Italy and Sicily are quite happy with the Protectorate, the people in the knight’s holdings in North Africa aren’t very thrilled with their Christian occupiers.
The Hospitallers are generally viewed as upstarts by most of the Old World, and their control of the southern Mediterranean trade routes has earned them the enmity of more mercantile states. And it goes without saying that most Muslim nations hate them passionately hate them.
With a government primarily composed of liberal idealists and a military led by honorable knights, the Hospitaller Protectorate has very weak offensive espionage. Most of the states are only moderately good at catching spies, with the notable exception of Malta. The Knight’s headquarters is notoriously difficult to infiltrate. VIPS: David Childermass : The first and only Englishman elected to the position of Grandmaster, he is cunning, charismatic, and ruthless. He follows in the footsteps of Jean de Villarete, the Grandmaster before him who was responsible for the Order’s return to power. Like de Villarete, Jeremy was elected at a young age, only twenty five when he took power in 1833. Any doubts about his abilities were swiftly dispelled, but some of the more conservative members of the Order are wary of his aggressive, and some would say subversive, policy reforms. Those few voices of discontent are far dwarfed by his overwhelming popularity among the rest of the Knights, who view him as a visionary to lead them into the next age.
Posting my finished write up here. I will post IC tomorrow.

Empire of Abyssinia
After centuries of puppet rulers, religious warfare between different Christian sects and Muslims, xenophobic feelings against Europeans and Warlords controlling vast stretches of the old empire, the new emperor Yohannes II managed to unite three of the largest ethnic groups of Abyssinia and re-open trade with old European trading partners. Finally, after a bloody campaign lasting nearly eleven years, he united the old empire under a strong, but at first tyrannical and bloody rulership, even conquering new territory in an attempt to placate former warlords, by making them generals and the rulers of new territory in eastern africa and the southern arabian penninsula. In 1825, after more than a decade of strained peace, he passed on his rule to his son Mikael, who took the new name Menelik II, after the mystical son of the Queen of Sheeba and King Solomon of Israel, the first emperor. He ruled for only ten years, trying to bring peace and stability through cooperation instead of the tyranny of his father, calming many of the disgruntled but now peaceful former warlords. His daughter, Makeda II, continued this approach until today, having ruled for five years now. She is still unmarried, using her status as a means to keep the nobles under control, making them vie for her attention.
Form of Government: Feudal Empire Territory: Ethiopia, Eritrea, Djibouti, parts of modern Somalia, Sudan and Yemen. Strengths: controls trade routes through the red sea and the Gulf of Aden. Vast agricultural production, thanks to many major rivers and rich soil. Has large mineral resources, mainly gold, but these are not yet developed for trade. Weaknesses: Technologically behind Europe by quite a distance, but slowly catching up. Civil unrest hasn't been open for 30 years, but memories last long. __________________

If this is not full, can I please take brazil? Name: The Light Beckons (Referred to as The Light by it's followers, or as the Order by others.)
Form of Government: Democratic Theocracy
Territory: Brazil, Venezuela, Columbia
History: The Light Beckons was formed in 1828, as revolution swept Argentina. The Order's leaders were originally exiles from all over the world, who met in the city of Rio De Janerio in the may of that year. This unpreceedented confrence resulted in the forming of the "Code", a set of revolutionary morals that act as the founding charter of the Order. They lay down principles of universal equality, respect for human life, a set of basic human rights, and democracy. It also stipulates the need for an organisation made up of entlightened people to educate humanity as a whole about the tenets of the Code. This organisation (later to become The Light Beckons) was to guide the entire world into a new era of tolerance. The movement has spread like wildfire, grabbing hold of the public imagination worldwide. In 1836, when Crown Prince Desari Travili inherited the throne of Brazil, he handed power over to The Light, to public jubilation. Later that year, the king of Columbia bowed to the demands of his palace guard, and followed suit. In 1838, a revolution in Venezuela with the stated objective of handing power over to The Light. When this revolution was brutally crushed by royalist troops, Santos Lerva (Speaker for the council) called a massive vote. Overwhelmingly, the citizens of The Light voted to ride to the rescue of the rebels. The first volunteers army crossed the border in november 1838, and crushed the last royalist resistance in the july of the next year.
Strengths:
-High Morale: The Light is treated with a devotion approaching fanaticism by it's followers, partially due to it's mastery of propaganda. -Widespread: The Order is everywhere.. It's followers can be found across the entire world. -Technologically advanced Military: The Sword (The elite military wing of the Order) are superbly well-equipped.
Weaknesses:
-Low civil tech level: The Light's followers are almost entirely uneducated, and the lands that The Order controls are still just about medieval in tech level. -Small Army: The Sword is tiny, espesially when compared to the size of the Order's population. While the Order could theretically call upon massive numbers of volunteers, equipment shortages make this impossible.
VIPs: -Desaro Travili: Desaro was the last of the line of Travili monarchs, handing power over to The Light in 1836. Recently, he has been elected governor of brazil, where he has gained international acclaim for his prowess at governance. -Santos Lerva: Santos is the current speaker for the council. This position means that he operates as the public face of The Light Beckons. -Jackson Redwood: Redwood is an english intellectual, and the driving force behind the expansionism of The Light, Is well known for his vocal support of the invasion of Veneuzuela.
